However, the iGaming market, which saw a 23% increase in revenue, was just behind sports betting's total, with a current total of $481.5m.
Massachusetts generated a total of $128.8 million in commercial gaming revenue, while Ohio generated $240.7 million.
Nevertheless, Nevada, the state in which the Las Vegas Strip is situated, continues to be the largest state. In July 2023, commercial gaming revenue in Nevada reached $1.4 billion, representing a 4% year-over-year increase.
In the interim, New Jersey generated $506.2 million in commercial gaming revenue, which represents an annual increase of 11% and the second-largest sum ever recorded, following Nevada. Furthermore, Pennsylvania's revenue increased by 11% year-over-year to $470.4 million. The forthcoming Gambling Insider magazine for September/October will concentrate on these two states.
