Sandro Tonali was issued a 10-month suspension from football due to his involvement in wagering violations.
The Italian FA has confirmed that Sandro Tonali has been banned from football for a period of 10 months as a result of a betting examination, as per a variety of sports media reports.
Tonali, a Newcastle United midfielder and Italian national footballer, has been prohibited from participating in football for a period of 10 months. Additionally, he will be required to complete an additional eight months of rehabilitation activities.
Tonali was issued a suspension by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).
Should Italy qualify for the 2024 Euros, the 23-year-old will not be eligible to participate until August, and as a result, he will not be involved.
The same betting investigation has also implicated other Italian players, including Nicolò Zalewski, Nicolò Zaniolo, and Nicolò Fagioli; however, not all of them have yet been sanctioned.
Fagioli was issued a seven-month suspension by the FIGC for betting violations earlier this month, which is comparable to Tonali's ban.
